Yet Another Splotch Monster

I call this one summer fun. Considering how hot it's been around here for the last month or so, it's no wonder that my monster is eating an ice cream.

Splotch Monster - Out Of This World

This one obviously comes from an alien world. Those tiny tiny legs wouldn't hold her in our gravity, but on another planet, they might work perfectly. Oh, how I wish I could have just a peek into an alien world. Until I get a chance for that, the imagination will have to do.

Splotch Monster - Desert Pet

I call this one Desert Pet because it reminds me of a camel a bit, but also have a slight hint of dog in it. Might be just my imagination, but you know what, I'd love to have such a silly looking pet.

Just looking at it, I found this splotch quite complicated.

However, once I started drawing, it turned out quite easy to make a monster out of it.

The interesting thing about it (for me, anyway) - it looks good up side down, too. The effect was an accident and not an intention. I only noticed it when I was scanning the image.

Just for a bit of variety, I added some flowers and circles to the background. I see it as some sort of a lizard like creature, but I've been told it looks like a mole. This is why I love splotch monsters. No pressure to make it look like any specific creature.

Is it a horse? Is it a long haired dude with a mustache. Is it a somewhat masculine lady holding a weird purse? Is it a weird animal breeder? I have no idea.

I've been really enjoying making splotch monsters lately. I worry sometimes that I am just copying Steve's monsters and style, but other than that I am having a blast making these.

This one was originally going to be only one monster, but the other one emerged in the background as I was finishing up and I let it be. 

No scan of the initial splotch once again. Sorry. I keep forgetting.

It takes an effort to make things shiny, be it as big as a personality or as small as a silver spoon. Sometimes it almost takes being a super hero to succeed.

Another day, another splotch monster. I had too much blank space on top, so I drew a curtain there. I think it works well with this particular monster.
